Tried to plant an organic garden – Don’t buy from Heirloom Seeds
April 21st, 2008
I am a simple consumer. I buy things online and expect them to ship as said in their messaging. This company, Heirloom Seeds, said that they’re backlogged so I was very patient and waited for 21 days before emailing them since they said 14 days. Gardens are date dependent. If you miss the growing season, the time is gone.
I placed a $155 order with them for their organic seeds because I want to support the small companies instead of a Burpee Seed company. I was even willing to deal with the 2 week wait. However I also expected them to email me and say hey it’s been three weeks and we’re still behind, or something. My patience ran out at day 21 with not a peep from them except the initial email.
When i wrote to cancel the order, they say oh we mailed it today. Brilliant. Don’t order from them even if their seeds are good. That is still to be determined.
Email Thread with the Company:
Dear Heirloom Seeds,
Thank you for mailing them today. I wanted to let you know that I will probably not order my winter seeds from you as I feel that you would not have mailed the seeds today had I not emailed. For a $155 order of seeds, I believe that will be a loss and I will not be recommending your site to friends.
Regards,
x
